East Midlands

In this part of England you will find, among other things, a vast hilly landscape with rocks and heath, rough and wide. A beautiful area for walking or driving through. In the east are the seaside resorts and marshy areas. One of Britain's many estates to be found in this area is Althorp House, the place where Princess Diana grew up and was buried. The East Midlands is one of the earliest inhabited areas in England. Major cities such as Leicester, Lincoln and Manchester all have a rich history dating back to the Romans. They have all grown through industry and trade. England's oldest national park is located in the Peak District. In addition to breath-taking views, you will also find a number of ancient stone circles, dating from a few thousand years before Christ.
