South East England is known for the chalk cliffs along the coast and the rolling countryside around London. The small difference in height, low vegetation and relatively broad roads make it also suitable for exploring by bicycle. London is easily accessible from this area. Other larger places worth visiting are the seaside towns of Brighton and Eastbourne, or cities full of history and culture such as Canterbury and Winchester. Also characteristic are the white geoglyphs on the hills, mostly white horses. These are best seen from a distance, but you can also see them up close. In this region you will find numerous castles, but also country houses with extensive gardens. Due to the short travel time between the mainland and this part of England, even a day trip is possible. The ferry port town of Dover offers a great number of options for a short visit.
